Is she crazy or a ‘brainiac’?

My sister Simone is having lots of fun at the moment experimenting in different mediums like charcoal, pastels, pencil and soluable pencil etc. Given this is her first time in using most of these materials I think they are amazing. I remember watching her draw when she was really young as she would draw in a 3 dimensional aspect naturally (I am 8 years older than her). Now that she is older and married, she lives in a mining town in central Queensland – as her husband works in mining. BUT she has 3 boys under the age of 5 and has been studying pshychology for years online at uni while looking after the kids. This year she has changed courses to studying art online. Is she completely insane or a ‘brainiac’?

For drawings of the elderly man, Simone used one of the images in ‘How to Draw the Human Figure’ by Victor Ambrus as a guide.

  1. She sounds like both to me, her work is beautiful! For experimenting with new mediums she is very good. I can’t imagine trying to tackle school family life and 3 boys under the age 5. She is one very talented woman. Tell her to keep up the beautiful work.
    Blessings for your New Year.

    • Hey Janet, nice to hear from you.
Yeah, I think you are right about Simone. She would have to be both. My favourite is the cherries in pastel.
Will definately tell her to keep up the great work!
Hope your hand is healing quickly. I haven’t done any clay related pieces lately, been too busy with other stuff.
      Cheers

    • Hi, nice to hear from you! Yeah probably both. She is now living in Peru cause her husband is in a mining job. So now she trying to learn Spanish to help survive over there. She stopped her art for a while but now she is getting back to it.
Hey it’s unbelievable how multi skilled you are across so many mediums. Really interesting blog you have. Thanks also for being open about depression etc.
